Conservation & Stewardship
Outdoor Recreation can only exist when there is an outdoors. The PA Outdoor Network will work to protect and improve public access to lands across the Commonwealth, while preserving the natural characteristics that make the outdoors so critical. We strive to educate the public on the importance and interdependency of a health environment, outdoor recreation and a vibrant economy.
Economic Development
The Outdoor Recreation economy exists at a human scale in Pennsylvania, one that links our towns and cities to the landscape. At this scale it often goes unheralded, but the goal of the PA Outdoor Network is to help connect businesses to existing resources and leverage the breadth and scope of the impacts to bring more resources to businesses.
Education & Workforce Training
Because Outdoor Recreation businesses often begin as passion projects, we look for creative ways to instill a passion for the outdoors early, while providing opportunities for business skills development and technical training. By broadening who can access these opportunities early, the PA Outdoor Network hopes to create a skilled, stable work force to support the many opportunities out there.
Public Health & Wellness
Access to the Outdoors is a right that we all share in PA. The PA Outdoor Network will work to lower the barriers to getting outside and will look to create innovative partnerships to encourage more people to be able to enjoy the natural world. The health benefits of spending time outside are well documented, let’s make it the easy choice for everyone.
